Finding Stillness Through Action – My Journey So Far

Over the past few months, life has been full and deeply engaging. I have been dedicating meaningful time to my high school sophomore year studies, alongside this, I completed my 600-hour Yoga Teacher Training, including specialized training in yoga for disease management. I also prepared for and attended Cleveland music competitions and performed in various concerts. In addition, I had the precious opportunity to volunteer at an old age home during the December 2025 holidays.


My journey in yoga added another dimension. Completing 600hr Yoga Teacher Training was not just an academic achievement, but a lesson in discipline, patience, and inner awareness.


At the same time, preparing for the Cleveland Tyagaraja Aradhana Music competitions and performing in various concerts brought a different kind of discipline into my life, learning to set goals and constantly work toward something higher. Each performance became a reminder that fulfillment emerges when effort meets devotion.


At times, my days felt like a continuous movement between practice, study, performance, and service. Yet within this rhythm, I began noticing something subtle, stillness was not absent.


While volunteering at the old age home, I guided residents through gentle yoga practices. But the deeper learning came not just from teaching, but from simply being present. Sitting with the elderly, listening to their stories, and adapting movements to their comfort taught me that service is not always about doing. Sometimes, it is about quiet companionship. Those moments became precious genuine human connections.


I went there to teach, but I left having learned far more. I encountered elders living with conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and other neurodegenerative disorders, and these experiences deeply moved me.


They awakened a strong inner calling within me to deepen my understanding of yoga and to apply it in a more meaningful and purposeful way. This experience inspired me to explore how yogic practices can support individuals with neurodegenerative conditions, particularly among the elderly, as well as neurodevelopmental conditions in children, including autism and ADHD.


This realization brought a sense of direction. I feel increasingly drawn to serve these communities through yoga, mindfulness, and compassionate support tailored to their needs.


In the midst of compassion, inspiration, perseverance, and aspiration, I am finding a blissful stillness that comes from being fully present and I deeply cherish it.
